History and Background

Glenmorangie, a prestigious Scottish distillery, released "Glenmorangie Tokyo" as the fourth installment in its "Story Series." This whisky was crafted to evoke the image of both Japan's traditions and its modern city, Tokyo.

Production Method

"Glenmorangie Tokyo" is aged in three types of casks: Mizunara oak, new Bourbon, and Oloroso Sherry, each for 12 to 15 years. Mizunara oak casks are extremely difficult to acquire, and their distinctive aroma adds a special flavor to the whisky.

Tasting Notes

From the bronze-colored liquid, aromas of fragrant wood like sandalwood and caramel, along with resinous flavors, spread. Upon tasting, a blend of sweetness and herbal notes emerges, followed by flavors of orange and bitter cherry. A piquant spice provides an accent, and the finish reveals a stewed sweetness and oak nuances.

Recommended Way to Drink

It is best enjoyed neat or with a small amount of water to fully appreciate its complex flavors. Particularly for Glenmorangie fans, this is a masterpiece to savor for its contrasting charm.
