About anCnoc Peatheart Whisky

anCnoc Peatheart is produced at the Knockdhu Distillery in the Scottish Highlands. This whisky uses barley malted with 40 PPM (parts per million) of peat, giving it a rich smokiness. Peatheart is known as the smokiest whisky offered by anCnoc.

Production Method

The Knockdhu Distillery was established in 1894 and is blessed with abundant natural resources such as peat, clear water sources, and barley. Utilizing these resources, traditional methods are used to burn peat and dry the barley. By adjusting the amount of peat burned and the humidity of the barley during the production process, the "peatiness" of the whisky is controlled.

Taste

The color is pale amber, with an initial explosion of smokiness followed immediately by a spread of fruitiness. Notably, notes of ripe pear, apple, and citrus lime are perceptible, with a slight tobacco aroma in the background. The taste combines leather, stewed apples, chocolate, and smoke, perfectly balanced with sweet vanilla and zesty lemon. The finish is a long, floral smokiness.
