Kakushigura is a premium barley shochu from Hamada Shuzo, a long-established brewery in Kagoshima. Selected barley is prepared with white koji and distilled under reduced pressure. The resulting unblended sake is then carefully stored and aged in barrels, giving it an amber color and a rich aroma.
You'll notice a subtle sweetness behind the woody barrel aroma and smooth taste. The lingering, vanilla-like finish is a characteristic depth unique to barrel aging. Its well-balanced nature makes it a great pairing for any dish.
