Ibusuki Distillery's “Awasé Kuro Riemоn” from Kagoshima is a honkaku sweet potato shochu made with black koji to draw out its depth and rich flavor. Nurtured by Ibusuki's warm climate and abundant water, it is a bottle beloved by the local community.
Description
Carefully selected sweet potatoes and black koji are slowly fermented to achieve both the rich flavor characteristic of sweet potato shochu and a crisp finish. True to its name, “Awase,” the spirit is blended from different base distillates, resulting in a well-balanced, easy-drinking profile.
Recommended serving methods
Serving it warm brings out the sweet potato's rich flavor and depth. It is also recommended neat on the rocks for a crisp taste, while adding water gives it a clean finish that pairs easily with meals.
