滋賀・長濱蒸溜所が手がける「YAZŪKA（ヤズーカ）」は、ロックシンガー吉井和哉氏とのコラボレーションシリーズです。第一弾となる「BURN」は、THE YELLOW MONKEY全盛期を象徴する楽曲「BURN」が持つ燃えるような情熱を、ウイスキーでより増幅させることを目指した一本です。
チャーリングが生む、情熱的な味わい
樽の内側を炎で燃焼させる"チャーリング"という技法に着目し、後熟に使用する樽は長濱蒸溜所のスタッフ自らが手がけました。燻製のようなスモーキーフレーバー、ナッツやバニラのような甘美なアロマ、蜂蜜を思わせるふくらみが特徴で、そこへスモーキータイプの原酒による煙の演出を加えることで、炎が燃え盛る様をボトルに封じ込めたような味わいに仕上げています。鮮やかなアンバーカラーで、トップノートはバニラや焦がしたキャラメル、ブラッドオレンジのパウンドケーキを思わせる甘やかで香ばしいアロマ。シェリー樽原酒由来のナッツやクルミのアクセントも感じられます。
