“Akane Kirishima” is a distinctive sweet potato shochu created by Kirishima Shuzo after 13 years of development. Made with the orange-fleshed sweet potato “Tamaakane,” it offers an elegant aroma reminiscent of peaches and oranges.
Product Description
Made with 100% high-carotene orange-fleshed “Tamaakane” sweet potatoes and fermented with Kirishima Shuzo’s original “imo no hana” yeast, this shochu brings out a fruity aroma and light sweetness. It is produced entirely at the company’s own brewery in Miyakonojo, Miyazaki Prefecture, using sweet potatoes from Kyushu and “Kirishima Rekka-sui,” underground water from the Kirishima mountain range. It also contains zero sugar and zero purines.
Recommended Ways to Enjoy
Enjoy its elegant aroma on the rocks or with water. Mixing it with soda brings out its fruity character even more. Its light, refreshing taste makes it a great choice even for those who are not usually fond of sweet potato shochu.
