Zuisen Red 25% 720ml Bottle | Awamori Zuisen Distillery, Okinawa Prefecture
Zuisen Red is Zuisen Shuzo's classic awamori, carrying on the tradition of Shuri's Sanka. The 720ml bottle is a convenient size for those who want to try Zuisen's flavor first, and makes an easy-to-give gift.
Description
This authentic awamori is made with Thai rice and black koji using pot distillation. Its appeal lies in its well-balanced character: rich aroma and full-bodied depth, yet a mild, easy-drinking profile. Zuisen Shuzo is a historic brewery descended from the official brewery of the Ryukyu royal court, and continues to make traditional awamori in Shuri today. The 720ml bottle is easy to finish and is also ideal for everyday evening drinks.
Recommended ways to enjoy
In Okinawa, mizuwari with ice or on the rocks is the standard way to enjoy it. Serving it with hot water brings out the distinctive aroma of awamori even more. It pairs well with a wide range of Okinawan dishes, including sashimi and stir-fried island vegetables.
