Shochu for Pickled Pit Viper 1800ml Bottle | Korui Shochu Meiri Shurui Ibaraki Prefecture
Made by Meiri Shurui (a long-established brewery in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture, whose brewing tradition dates back to the Edo period), this shochu is specially designed for making fruit liqueurs and medicinal infusions. With a relatively high alcohol content of 47% ABV, it is intended for steeping and effectively drawing out the ingredients' extracts.
Product description
This shochu has the clean, crisp, and neutral taste characteristic of korui shochu, so it does not interfere with the natural flavors or colors of the ingredients being steeped. Its high alcohol content also gives it excellent preservability, making it suitable for long-aged medicinal infusions, habushu, and fruit liqueurs. It has also long been used for non-drinking purposes, such as removing the astringency from persimmons.
Recommended ways to enjoy
For making habushu, use approximately one 1.8 L bottle of this product per habu snake and allow it to steep slowly. Aging it for at least three years allows the active compounds in the ingredients to gradually dissolve. When making fruit liqueur, combine it with rock sugar and steep your preferred fruit.
