This 2020 vintage was produced the year after that legendary masterpiece. With extremely limited production, this rare back vintage was almost never released to the market, but our senior buyer tenaciously secured it. We are now delivering a bottle that can truly be called a "hidden treasure."

Grand Polaire Yamanashi Barrel Fermented is a Koshu wine of the highest domestic standard, having achieved an unprecedented "Gold Medal & Highest Section Prize" at the Japan Wine Competition for three consecutive years. Its quality, recognized by esteemed judges including international Masters of Wine, is faithfully inherited by the 2020 vintage. This is a luxurious "Limited Series" creation, using only carefully selected, highly mature grapes and fermented and aged in French oak barrels.

Upon arrival, it was not immediately put up for sale. To maximize the potential, which is no less than that of the masterpiece 2019, it was quietly aged under optimal conditions in our temperature-controlled aging facility. Flavor and Aroma Characteristics

A brilliant, greenish-yellow hue. Elegant aromas of grapefruit and apricot are exquisitely balanced with soft nuances of toast and butter derived from barrel fermentation. On the palate, a rich acidity and mineral sensation, matured through aging, fills the senses, followed by a long, graceful finish.
