4941301250960
"Mitake," produced by Mitake Shuzo on the World Natural Heritage island of Yakushima, is a premium imo shochu made with Yakushima water and Kogane Sengan sweet potatoes. It is also known as a popular, hard-to-find brand.
Description
Soft water that has passed through Yakushima's primeval forests is used as the brewing water, bringing out the natural sweetness and gentle aroma of Kogane Sengan sweet potatoes. The name "Mitake" comes from the Mitake-mairi pilgrimage around Yakushima's three peaks: Mount Miyanoura, Mount Nagata, and Mount Kuromi. Its elegant, mild flavor makes it an excellent choice for beginners to imo shochu.
Recommended ways to enjoy
Heating it with hot water brings out the soft mouthfeel imparted by Yakushima's water. This bottle can also be enjoyed on the rocks or diluted with water for a crisp, refreshing taste.
