"Sengetsu," crafted by Sengetsu Shuzo in Hitoyoshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, is one of the representative brands of Kuma Shochu. It was named after Hitoyoshi Castle's alias, "Sengetsu Castle." The Hitoyoshi-Kuma region is known for the underflow water of the Kuma River and its abundant rice production, making it a special area designated by the government with a Geographical Indication (GI) for its rice shochu, "Kuma Shochu."

Its smooth mouthfeel, characteristic of white koji preparation, leads to a mellow richness, making for a pleasant drinking experience. The elegant rice aroma is its distinguishing feature, and it's easy to see why it has been loved in the region for so many years.
