Honbo Shuzo's sweet potato shochu "Yakusugi" bears the name of Yakushima, a World Natural Heritage site. It is brewed at Yakushima Densho蔵 using the island's abundant underground water and sweet potatoes grown with that water, fermented in traditional earthenware pots.
The pot fermentation process gives it a mellow and rich flavor, along with the full aroma of sweet potato. It is a deep, profound spirit that reflects the pure nature of Yakushima itself.
