Kanosuke Single Malt SHERRY CASKS VATTED, brimming with fruitiness and rich sherry cask aromas
This limited-edition version of KANOSUKE's flagship "Kanosuke Single Malt" is lavishly accented with sherry casks. With a luxurious composition in which sherry casks account for 60% or more, it makes generous use of spirits matured in Oloroso and cream sherry casks.
What makes it special
The key malts are robust, full-bodied spirits matured in Oloroso casks, along with spirits matured in cream sherry casks that impart a luscious sweetness. These are layered with the "Japanese" spices derived from shochu re-charred casks, part of Kanosuke's DNA, and nuances from American white oak virgin casks. As this whisky is non-chill-filtered, sediment or cloudiness derived from flavor compounds may occur, but this does not affect the quality.
Flavor and aroma profile
The color is amber. Aromas of dark cherry, vanilla, cinnamon, and raspberry unfold into flavors reminiscent of raisins, dark chocolate, clove, fruit-filled pound cake, and lychee. A tropical finish reminiscent of mangosteen lingers alongside a gently bitter, oaky note.
Recommended ways to enjoy
Bottled at 48% ABV, it is best enjoyed neat to start. As time passes or with a few drops of water, the fruity notes gently open up, while serving it on the rocks brings out its rich sweetness even more.
