What Makes This Set Special
Yamazaki 12 Year Old is an iconic Japanese single malt whisky launched in 1984. At Yamazaki Distillery, established in 1923 as Japan's first whisky distillery, it is made with the renowned “Rikyu no Mizu” spring water and matured in the humid climate surrounded by bamboo groves. It has received high acclaim at numerous international competitions, including Japan's first gold medal at the 2003 ISC (International Spirits Challenge). YUZA 2024 is a single malt Japanese whisky that could be called the “starting point” of Yusa Distillery's house style, evolving with greater depth through continued maturation. The whisky is carefully selected from spirits matured in bourbon barrels.
Flavor and Aroma Profile
Yamazaki 12 Year Old is characterized by sweet vanilla aromas from white oak casks and aromas of ripe fruit. Sherry cask and Mizunara cask whiskies add a subtle hidden layer, creating waves of complex aromas and flavors alongside an elegant taste.
