Catullo Valpolicella Ripasso 750ml | Red Wine Italy
Catullo is a Valpolicella Ripasso made by Bertani, a prestigious winery in the Veneto region founded in 1857. Using the Ripasso method, in which the wine is refermented on the grape skins left over from Amarone production, it is a richly textured and complex wine.
Description
A blend of 85% Corvina Veronese, 10% Merlot, and 5% Rondinella. It is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, followed by maturation in concrete tanks, and then rests in the bottle for approximately six more months. This full-bodied red wine features elegant spicy aromas reminiscent of vanilla and chocolate, layered with nuances of cherry and white pepper.
Recommended serving suggestions
Pairs well with pasta in tomato sauce and pizza generously topped with cheese. We also recommend serving it slightly warmer to bring out its aromas.
