Domaine Hamelin, a long-established Chablis producer with roots dating back to the 1940s. This family-run estate is led by Thierry Hamelin, who also served as former president of the Knights of Chablis.
The character of old vines nurtured by Kimmeridgian soils
Domaine Hamelin owns a total of 36.75 hectares of vineyards spanning the three villages of Poinchy, Beine, and Lignorelles, cultivating mainly old vines with an average age of 25 to 30 years. To express the distinctive character of the thick Kimmeridgian limestone soils directly, the winery combines traditional methods with modern technology, minimizing filtration. True to its name, Vieilles Vignes (“old vines”), this wine is characterized by a more concentrated minerality and a deep, complex palate. It has received high praise both in Japan and internationally, including a five-star rating from Gault & Millau and acclaim from Robert Parker and the Hachette Wine Guide.
