Château Cantenac Brown is a prestigious Bordeaux estate classified as a Third Growth of Margaux in the 1855 Classification. The 2020 vintage marked a memorable year, celebrated as the moment this château joined the ranks of Margaux's great producers. It is a blend of 67 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 33 percent Merlot, carefully aged in barrels, 60 percent of which are new oak.
Description
The 2020 vintage is considered a challenging yet rewarding year for Bordeaux, one that tested the skill of its producers. The summer heat and small berries produced concentrated fruit flavors. Complex aromas reminiscent of dark cherries, plums, chocolate, leather, licorice, and cloves form layer upon layer, revealing a dense yet vertically extended strength of structure. Compared with recent vintages, it is especially fresh and energetic, with excellent aging potential from 2026 through 2055 - truly a bottle to enjoy with an eye toward the next 20 to 30 years.

With its firm structure, this wine pairs exceptionally well with rich, savory dishes such as grilled red meat, roast lamb, and aged cheeses. After opening, decanting the wine and allowing it to slowly breathe will help its aromas unfold more richly.
