Château Cler Milon is a Fifth Growth château in the Médoc classification, with vineyards adjacent to Pauillac's two First Growth châteaux, Lafite and Mouton. Baron Philippe de Rothschild acquired the neglected vineyards and devoted himself to restoring their rightful status, placing them alongside the family's other two châteaux.
Description
The 2020 vintage was made with a château-style complex blend of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, and 1% Carménère. Aromas of cassis and black cherry, along with mineral notes reminiscent of graphite and crushed stone, harmonize with fine-grained tannins and pure fruit flavors, creating a full-bodied wine.
Recommended serving
It pairs exceptionally well with richly flavored meat dishes, such as beef roasted slowly over low heat and game. As this wine is also well suited to long-term aging, we recommend decanting it and savoring it slowly.
