Château Pontet-Canet 2019 750ml
Château Pontet-Canet was the first château in the Médoc classification to convert all its plots to biodynamic farming, and the first château on Bordeaux's Left Bank to receive biodynamic certification.
Description
The 81-hectare vineyard lies in the heart of Pauillac, just south of Mouton-Rothschild and d'Armailhac. Its soil consists of gravel deposited by the Garonne River over a limestone bedrock, providing ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2019 vintage was outstanding, receiving a score of 98 to 100 points from Wine Advocate. It offers exhilarating, expressive aromas of cherry, cassis liqueur, plum jam, licorice, wood smoke, and violet, followed by a rich, full-bodied palate.
Recommended serving
We recommend decanting this wine to allow its aromas to open up, then pairing it with hearty meat dishes such as beef tenderloin or roast lamb. Its full-bodied, commanding character also pairs beautifully with game dishes.
