This is one of the signature Champagnes from Veuve Clicquot, a Champagne house founded in 1772. In the 19th century, after losing her husband, the young widow Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin took the helm of the house herself and developed the riddling technique, dramatically improving the quality of Champagne. As a testament to her passion, the vivid yellow label used continuously since 1877 has become a symbol of Champagne beloved around the world.
Description
A skillful blend of 50-55% Pinot Noir, 28-33% Chardonnay, and 15-20% Pinot Meunier, made from grapes grown in 50-60 different vineyards and 30-45% reserve wines. Aged in the bottle for a minimum of three years, it brings together well-defined, fruit-driven structure, elegant acidity, and a smooth mouthfeel in perfect harmony. Complex aromas reminiscent of brioche and white flowers mingle with refreshing citrus notes, creating a deep and layered flavor.
Recommended serving suggestions
Enjoy it not only as an aperitif, but also with white fish carpaccio, prosciutto, and creamy cheeses. Its firm structure also makes it a delightful pairing for somewhat rich dishes such as fried foods and Chinese cuisine.
