GlenAllachie 2012 Cuvée Wine Cask Finish 48% [Whisky UK 700ml]

The GlenAllachie distillery was established in 1967 on the outskirts of Aberlour. Until recently, its main role was to supply new-make spirit for blended whiskies, making single malt bottlings exceptionally rare. In 2017, legendary single malt producer Billy Walker recognized the potential of GlenAllachie, and the distillery gained independence from its parent company.

After maturation in Bourbon casks, the whisky undergoes further aging in carefully selected European wine barriques.

Four types of wine casks are used: French AOC Languedoc and AOC Médoc, and Italian Grattamacco and Recioto della Valpolicella DOC.

Nose: Elegant fruits, heather honey, dried red berries, ginger, and caramel biscuits, followed by delicate spices.

Palate: Comb honey with plum syrup, fig, stewed cherries, and a pleasant bitterness of orange.

Finish: A hint of cinnamon, ginger, and red berries.
