Coteaux du Layon is one of France's three great botrytized wines! This is a long-aged botrytized wine with a beautiful acidity reminiscent of ripe apples. The soil of this château is sandy, giving it higher acidity and minerality than typical Layon wines. Despite being a botrytized wine with a low yield of 15 hl/ha, it prides itself on not being "too sweet." It is a charming wine that is not merely sweet, having acquired the unique aroma and sweetness of botrytized grapes, along with the complexity and mellowness that come with aging.
