La Demoiselle de Sociando-Mallet 2017 is produced by Château Sociando-Mallet, located in the Haut-Médoc district of France's Bordeaux region. This fine dry red wine is brimming with mellow, ripe fruit flavors, making it ideal for special-occasion dinners or as a gift for someone special.
Description
This wine is an exquisite blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc grown in gravel and clay soils covering clay and limestone subsoil. It is made using traditional methods: fermentation for 30 days in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats and a row of concrete vats. It is then aged for 12 months in 100% new French oak barrels, with racking every six months, giving the wine deep complexity and a refined palate. When poured into a glass, rich aromas of black fruit rise from the wine, complemented by pleasant hints of concentrated plum with a subtle jam-like character. On the palate, ample, mellow, fully ripe fruit flavors spread generously, followed by a rich, elegant finish. It received a high score of 14/20 in the May 2018 issue of the prestigious French magazine Le Point.
Recommended serving
With its full body and rich fruit flavors, this wine pairs wonderfully with red meat dishes such as steak and well-aged hard cheeses. To fully bring out the wine's delicate aromas and flavors, we recommend serving it at around 18°C.
