Yoichi, the northern land, nurtures the "true essence of Pinot Noir" as smooth as velvet
We proudly present a superb bottle from the Sapporo Beer's internationally acclaimed premium Japanese wine brand "Grande Polaire." Among its offerings, the Single Vineyard series stands at the pinnacle, featuring Pinot Noir sourced from the renowned "Hirotsu Vineyard" in Yoichi Town, Hokkaido. Enjoy the delicate yet sensual taste that maximizes the unique characteristics of the terroir.
Key Feature: The "Memory of the Field" depicted by a Single Vineyard
This brand, named after "Grande" meaning greatness in French and "Polaire" meaning Polaris (the North Star), was born from a tripartite commitment to origin, grapes, and craftsmanship. This product exclusively uses high-quality Pinot Noir meticulously cultivated by our cooperative farmer, "Hirotsu Vineyard," in Yoichi Town. It is a rare single vineyard wine produced in limited quantities, encapsulating the climate and soil of that land directly in the bottle.
Flavor and Aroma Characteristics: Elegant Aromas and Refined Acidity
The moment it's poured into the glass, a brilliant and fresh aroma reminiscent of violets and strawberries rises. On the palate, a vibrant and beautiful acidity derived from the cool climate intertwines gently with soft tannins. The finish is as smooth as velvet, leaving a pleasant, long-lasting aftertaste in this elegant medium-bodied red wine.
Recommended Way to Enjoy: Pairing to Enhance Special Moments
To bring out the wine's vibrant acidity and delicate aroma, it's recommended to let it slowly open up at a slightly higher temperature of 16-18℃. For food pairings, light appetizers like prosciutto are excellent, and it also pairs wonderfully with Japanese dishes where the umami and acidity of seafood harmonize, such as Yoichi's unique "Nishin no Ichiyaboshi Sushi" (overnight-dried herring sushi).
