Kijoshu is a rich, sweet sake made with sake instead of water. This particular sake is a unique kijoshu that has been aged for over 8 years. Its flavor is often compared to sherry, madeira, or fine Shaoxing wine. It is highly popular among sake drinkers worldwide and a small number of vintage sake enthusiasts. Following its wins at the world's largest wine competition, the IWC, in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, and 2020, it won its 11th gold medal in the Vintage Sake category of the SAKE section at IWC 2021!
