"Kanosuke Single Malt 2026 LIMITED EDITION" is a limited edition product that captures the fresh scent of "Hamagou," a plant that signals spring on Kagoshima's Fukiagehama beach, and the gentle sea breeze in a single bottle. This is the first release in February for the series, meticulously designed by Chief Blender Shunichi Nakamura with the theme of "lightness and vibrancy" to gently accompany the beginning of the year.
Key Features: Innovative Double Cask Finish and "Slow Dilution"
At the core of this product are two key malts, each refined to perfection. Whiskies aged in bourbon barrels are finished in "apple brandy casks," while whiskies aged in Shochu re-charred casks, which are Kanosuke's DNA, are finished in "white wine casks." This bold experiment allows the juicy acidity reminiscent of white grapes and apples, and the full-bodied fruitiness to coexist in exquisite balance.
In addition, multiple sherry cask whiskies add depth and complexity to the flavor, and a very small amount of peated whisky tightens the overall harmony. Furthermore, the "slow dilution" technique, which involves adding water over a longer period than usual, is employed. Despite the high alcohol content of 57%, the water and alcohol gently blend, achieving an astonishingly mellow and silky texture.
Flavor and Aroma Characteristics
- Color: Gold Amber
- Aroma: The refreshing notes of orange blossom, apple peel, and white grapes are layered with the floral aroma of Hamagou.
- Taste: A soft sweetness of vanilla and honey is followed by a "Japanese" sweet and sour taste reminiscent of yuzu bean paste, and a gorgeousness derived from apple brandy spreads.
- Finish: A faint bitterness of grapefruit and a pleasant nuance like a spring sea breeze gently linger.

First, enjoy it straight, slowly savoring the changing aromas that unfold over time. A small amount of water will bring out the floral elements more vividly.
