This authentic shochu is made using “sweet potato koji,” in which koji mold is cultivated directly on the sweet potatoes, including the anthocyanin-rich purple sweet potato “Murasaki Masari.” Kirishima Shuzo describes this flavor profile with its unique “G Taste,” representing the three “Gs”: purity, gentleness, and grace. It features a fruity, elegant aroma unique to Murasaki Masari, along with a refined sweetness.
