Miyazaki's Ebino City: A Long-Loved Local Sweet Potato Shochu
"Meigetsu" is the flagship brand of Akashi Brewery, located in Ebino City, Miyazaki Prefecture. Made primarily from "Kogane Sengan" sweet potatoes from Southern Kyushu, this imo shochu (sweet potato shochu) is prepared with white koji and then blended with rice shochu. This process mellows the sweet potato aroma, resulting in a smooth and palatable finish.

It features a subtle, gentle aroma and a mellow mouthfeel. While retaining the characteristic flavor of imo shochu, it has a mild taste, making it an approachable choice even for those new to imo shochu.
