"Excellence" is the premium brand of "Mellow Kozuru," Japan's first long-term barrel-aged shochu, created by Komasa Brewery in 1957. The carefully selected rice-based unblended shochu is aged slowly and thoroughly in oak barrels for an extended period of six years.
International Awards Attest to its Aging Prowess
Characterized by its mellow palate and rich flavor from barrel aging, as well as its fragrant aroma, it has received high praise both domestically and internationally, including Grand Gold Medals at the Monde Selection for three consecutive years and the Supreme Champion and Gold Medal in the shochu category at the Hong Kong IWSC.
