"Mogura" is an imo shochu brewed by Satsuma Muso in Kagoshima Prefecture. It's a popular brand named after the shape of the sweet potatoes used in its preparation, which resembled moles, and is exclusively available at special retailers.
White koji and "shitsugi" awamori brewing technique create a fresh sweet potato flavor
Carefully selected Kogane Sengan sweet potatoes are prepared with white koji and aged using the "shitsugi" technique, a maturing method from Okinawan awamori. By bottling it unfiltered with natural water from Nanakubo, the fresh aroma and deep flavor of the sweet potato are preserved as they are.
