Himebayashi, Shikoku's only shochu-exclusive brewery, presents a premium chestnut shochu.
Himebayashi in Shirokawa Town, Ehime Prefecture, is Shikoku's only shochu-exclusive brewery and the first in Japan to introduce chestnut shochu to the world. "Okuriokura PREMIUM" is a luxurious shochu made with 100% chestnuts from the local Oku-Iyo region.
Reduced pressure distillation brings out the refreshing aroma and gentle sweetness of chestnuts.
Careful distillation under reduced pressure brings out the chestnut's natural refreshing aroma and a gentle, soft sweetness. It offers a crisp and clear taste while allowing you to enjoy the rich flavor unique to chestnut shochu. The name "Okuriokura" comes from "Okuri," meaning chestnut, and "Okura" from Yamanoe no Okura, a poet from the Manyoshu anthology who composed poems about chestnuts.
