Tanegashima purple sweet potatoes grown by contracted farmers on the island are slowly roasted over charcoal in a traditional kiln before being used to make this shochu. This painstaking production method is its defining feature. In addition to the sweet, fragrant aroma characteristic of roasted sweet potato shochu, aging the unblended spirit for several years creates a clean finish, deep richness, and mellow flavor.
Recommended Ways to Enjoy
Adding hot water brings out the roasted sweet potato aroma even more. We also recommend enjoying it on the rocks to savor the depth imparted by aging.
