Sagara Brewery, a long-established company in Kagoshima City, was founded in 1730 and has a history of over 270 years. "Sagara" is an authentic imo shochu carefully brewed with white koji from carefully selected Kogane Sengan sweet potatoes by a brewery that is said to have presented its sake to Lord Shimazu during the Edo period.

Filtration, which usually takes only a few hours, is carefully performed over 24 hours using a coarse filter, and stored as close to an unfiltered state as possible. The result is a robust and rich flavor that doesn't strip away the deliciousness of the sweet potato.

Recommended way to enjoy

We especially recommend drinking it with hot water, where you can fully appreciate the flavor of the sweet potato. You can also enjoy its rich body with water or on the rocks.
