Shindo Distillery began operation in August 2021 in Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Under the concept of "THE QUEST FOR THE ORIGINAL," we are continuously undertaking unique challenges, such as "thorough production of new make using original yeast" and "aging with various types of casks," based on the paths forged by our predecessors.
[Thoughts behind the FOR CORES Series]
The SHINDO EXPERIMENTAL FOR CORES series is based on "EXPERIMENTAL 01," released in June 2025, but with a deeper theme and more refined craftsmanship. As the name suggests, "FOR CORES" is designed for core whisky enthusiasts, offering them a glimpse into our unique challenges and innovations.

This is the first peated type offered by Shindo Distillery, which embraces the philosophy "Royal Road, Shindo Road."
New make was produced with heavily peated malt with a phenol value of about 50ppm and aged in bourbon barrels.
By blending it with multiple unpeated new makes, we designed a flavor profile that is not one-sided, harmonizing the milky, fatty flavors of the new make with a rich, sweet, and long finish.
[Component New Makes]
Consists of 67% Bourbon Barrel (Peated), 15% Bourbon Barrel (Unpeated), 13% Mizunara New Cask, 3% Cognac Cask, and 2% Oloroso Sherry Cask.
[Tasting Notes]
A moderate smokiness and richness on the top, combined with the vibrancy of bourbon barrels, and the characteristic rich, sweet, and long finish of Shindo's new make. The addition of sweet and spicy notes from Mizunara seamlessly connects the richness at the start with the sweetness at the end. A small amount of Oloroso cask adds body, and a touch of Cognac cask harmonizes the smooth aftertaste.
