Kokuto shochu "Takakura" brewed by Amami Oshima Brewery in Kagoshima Prefecture. This is a long-selling product that represents the brewery, made with 100% Amami-produced kokuto (brown sugar), aged for over 3 years in stainless steel tanks, and then further aged for 7 months in oak barrels.
Amber color from barrel aging and a sweet, fruity aroma
Additional aging in oak barrels gives it an amber color and a rich flavor where the sweet, fruity aroma harmonizes with the mellow richness of brown sugar. It received the Monde Selection Gold Award consecutively in 2008 and 2009.
Recommended Way to Drink
Enjoy the aroma from barrel aging on the rocks, or the mellow sweetness with water or hot water.
