アメリカ・アイオワ州のテンプルトンが手がける、ライウイスキーをベースにした一本です（日本での品目はスピリッツ）。黒ぶどうから造られたカリフォルニア産のポートスタイルワインをブレンドし、ライウイスキーの力強さに、濃厚でふくよかな果実味を重ねています。
テンプルトン ライについて
テンプルトン ライは、禁酒法時代のアメリカで密かに愛飲されていたライウイスキーをモチーフに、2006年に約70年ぶりの復活を果たしたブランドです。ライ麦を95%使用した芳醇な味わいで知られ、2018年には発祥の地であるアイオワ州テンプルトンの町に蒸溜所を構えています。
味わい・香りの特徴
香りはダークチェリーやイチジクに、スパイスを効かせたオレンジピールのニュアンス。口に含むと、シナモンやクローブ、ダークチョコレートのような風味に、ポートワイン由来の赤い果実の甘みとライウイスキーらしいスパイス感が重なります。余韻にはドライフルーツやオーク、ブラックペッパーが続き、長く楽しめます。
おすすめの楽しみ方
まずはストレートやオン・ザ・ロックで、ワインとウイスキーが重なる複雑な味わいを。カクテルなら、この一本ならではの果実味を活かしたマンハッタンもおすすめです。
