A deep, clear aroma, as if walking through the forests of Yakushima. "Wabijin The Forest" is a Japanese gin from Honbo Shuzo (Mars Tsunuki Distillery) featuring botanicals from Yakusugi cedar, said to be over 1,000 years old. Juniper berries are layered with botanicals from Kagoshima Prefecture, such as hinoki cypress leaves, ginger, green tea leaves, yuzu, and Hetsuka daidai (bitter orange), creating the delicate and profound aroma characteristic of the Wabijin series. The package illustration was created by Yuko Takata, an artist residing in Yakushima, making it an ideal gift for a loved one, presented in its gift box.
Recommended Ways to Enjoy
First, enjoy the forest-like aroma of the Yakusugi botanical slowly with a gin and tonic. On the rocks with ice, or as a "twice up" with a small amount of water, are also recommended for experiencing the changing aroma. It's an excellent choice as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to Japanese cuisine.
