Among the "Kaientai" series produced by Tosa Brewing Company in Kochi, this is a special limited edition carefully aged for over ten years in oak barrels. Its characteristics include a deep, rich flavor mellowed by long-term aging and a smooth aroma derived from the barrel.
The Elegant Sweetness Unique to Rice Shochu and the Depth of Aging
Made only from rice and rice koji, and with its raw spirit depressurized to suppress impurities, this long-aged rice shochu combines the elegant sweetness characteristic of rice shochu with an amber color and rich aroma reminiscent of whiskey. This is a bottle to savor slowly on the rocks or with water.
Recommended Way to Drink
Enjoy the changing aroma slowly on the rocks, or lightly with soda. It also pairs excellently with Kochi local dishes such as seared bonito (katsuo no tataki).
