Zaccagnini Montepulciano 750ml | Red Wine Italy

Cantina Zaccagnini has its winery on the hills of Bologna, at the foot of Gran Sasso, in Italy's central Abruzzo region. This is the signature red wine of the "Tralcetto" series, symbolizing its deep bond with the land by tying a small vine branch (tralcetto) around the neck of each bottle.

Montepulciano, embodying the traditions of Abruzzo

Made exclusively from the indigenous Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grape variety. The grapes are harvested in September from medium-textured clay soils, where they are grown using pergola and cordon-trained systems. After destemming and crushing, the wine is carefully fermented for approximately 15 days with the cap submerged, under controlled temperatures. It is then aged in stainless steel tanks on its own lees, creating a well-balanced combination of fruitiness and structure.

Recommended serving suggestions

In the glass, it displays a deep purplish ruby color. The aroma of fully ripe red forest fruits is complemented by spicy notes reminiscent of white pepper. Smooth on the palate, it finishes with soft, well-integrated tannins. We recommend lightly chilling it to around 14-16°C and pairing it with assortments of prosciutto and salami, pasta with meat or vegetables, or pizza with hearty toppings.
