The prestigious Château Léoville Barton in Saint-Julien was classified as a Second Growth (Deuxième Cru) in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. Along with Château Léoville Las Cases and Château Léoville Poyferré, it is one of the three châteaux that inherited Léoville, once a single vast estate.
A substantial 2022 vintage, the second produced in the new cellar
This blend consists of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11.5% Merlot, and 5.5% Cabernet Franc, made from grapes harvested between September 8 and 23. It is the second vintage produced in the new cellar and the first vintage to be made entirely by gravity without the use of pumps. It features complex aromas reminiscent of cassis, graphite, smoky tobacco, and violets. Full-bodied and concentrated, it has powerful tannins capable of supporting more than 10 years of aging.
Recommended serving
A full-bodied red wine made for long-term aging. Rather than enjoying it right away, we recommend patiently aging it in your cellar to savor how its character evolves. It pairs especially well with robust meat dishes such as roast beef.
