La Dame de Montrose 2018 750ml | Red Wine France
La Dame de Montrose is the second wine of Château Montrose, a prestigious Saint-Estèphe estate classified as a Second Growth in the Médoc classification. It was named as a tribute to Yvonne Charmolüe, the woman who ran the château single-handedly from 1944 to 1960.
Description
The 2018 vintage is a blend of 53% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc. Delicate aromas of dark fruits such as blueberry, blackcurrant, and Morello cherry are layered with notes of fig, dried fruit, and oak. It is characterized by silky-smooth tannins and a rich, full-bodied flavor.
Recommended serving suggestions
With its robust fruitiness, this wine is best enjoyed with roasted beef or lamb and meat dishes with a red wine sauce. Decanting after opening allows its aromas to develop more fully.
