Since its establishment in 1973, we have incorporated the world's leading whisky production techniques from Scotch, American, and Canadian traditions,

"Single Malt Japanese Whisky Fuji" offers a glimpse into the dedication and evolution of malt whisky production at Fuji Gotemba Distillery.
Single Malt Whisky Fuji uses two types of malt spirits: the light and elegant malt spirit traditionally produced since our founding, adhering to the "clean & estery" style, and the fruity and creamy malt spirit produced through evolved mashing and fermentation methods. This time, we are delighted to use a new type of malt spirit developed in the 2010s, which, after maturation, has achieved the targeted fruity aroma and flavor.
For aging, we primarily used American white oak bourbon barrels, a specialty of Fuji Gotemba Distillery. To create a rich flavor, we also incorporated beer-aged barrels and French oak wine-aged barrels that we had been experimenting with. These additions imbue the sweet and elegant aroma from bourbon barrel aging with florality from beer barrel aging and fruitiness and depth from wine barrel aging.
Through a blend that maximizes the characteristics of the diverse malt spirits produced at Fuji Gotemba Distillery, from traditional methods to new techniques, Single Malt Whisky Fuji achieves a rich and fruity flavor, reminiscent of the majestic beauty and vitality of Mt. Fuji. We hope this rich flavor and long finish will fill your heart with joy and happiness.
In a few years, malt spirits from the wooden fermentation tanks and small pot stills established in 2021 will also have matured and are planned to be added to the Fuji blend. We hope you enjoy the current single malt while also imagining the future evolution into an even more diverse aroma and rich flavor.
