イタリア南部バジリカータ州、標高200〜700mの高地に広がる旧火山モンテ・ヴルトゥレ山麓で育つアリアニコ種だけを使うワインです。1971年にDOC指定された、バジリカータ州で最初の格付け産地として知られています。
内容紹介
約80万年前の火山活動で堆積した溶岩質の土壌は、マグネシウムやカリウムなどのミネラルを豊富に含みます。標高が高く昼夜の寒暖差が大きい環境で育つ果実は凝縮感を持ち、濃いルビー色とブラックベリーや甘草を思わせる香り、なめらかなタンニンを備えたパワフルな味わいに仕上がります。
おすすめの楽しみ方
南イタリアらしい豊かな果実味は、ラムや猪など個性のある肉料理、熟成チーズとよく合います。ヴィンテージによっては10年以上の熟成にも耐える骨格を持つため、じっくりと変化を楽しむのもおすすめです。
