Introducing the Arran Malt Rare Batch 15 Year Old French Oak Grand Cru, a rare limited release from Lochranza Distillery, a pioneering craft distillery representing the Isle of Arran in Scotland. After maturation in Bourbon barrels, it underwent a long period of further aging in French Oak Grand Cru ex-casks, previously used for aging white wine in the renowned wine region of northeastern France. You can enjoy the profound taste unique to cask strength, where the characteristic fruitiness of Arran beautifully harmonizes with the rich orange notes derived from the wine casks.

・Complex Layers Created by Thorough Finishing
After aging for 7 years in Bourbon barrels, it undergoes a long finishing period of an additional 8 years in French oak barrels that were previously used for aging Grand Cru (Grand Cru Classé) white wine in northeastern France. By spending more than half of its maturation period in wine casks, it imparts deep complexity and elegance to the spirit.

・Only 900 Bottles Imported to the Japanese Market
Only just over 4,000 bottles were bottled worldwide, and of those, only 900 bottles were imported to Japan, making this a very rare batch. This is a special bottle filled with the craftsmanship of Lochranza Distillery, a pioneer among craft distilleries that has been carefully producing spirits with small stills since its establishment in 1995.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

・Color: Deep dark amber.
・Aroma: Starts with fruity apple aromas, transitioning to refreshing citrus notes centered on orange peel. This is followed by sweet oaky aromas.
・Taste: A rich and full-bodied palate with a pleasant oiliness, thanks to its 52.5% cask strength. As with the aroma, orange peel flavors spread richly, intertwined with a bittersweet citrus note. Mid-palate, profound flavors of rich vanilla brioche and dark chocolate emerge.
・Finish: The dark chocolate taste continues through to the finish, complexly intertwined with maraschino cherry flavors, providing a very long and elegant aftertaste.
