ボルドー・メドック地方、マルゴー村のすぐ北西に位置するムーリス・アン・メドック地区の名門「シャトー・シャス・スプリーン」。その名は「憂鬱を打ち払う」という意味を持ち、1821年に同シャトーに滞在した英国の詩人バイロンが命名したと伝わります。格付けはされていないものの、しばしば3級格付けシャトーに匹敵する品質と評され、高い評価を受け続けている造り手です。
力強さと繊細さを兼ね備えた2019年ヴィンテージ
カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン52％、メルロー40％、プティ・ヴェルド6％、カベルネ・フラン2％のブレンド。バニラやチェリー、ブラックベリー、カシス、オールドローズを思わせる複雑な香りに、リッチなアタックとシルキーなタンニンが調和します。2045年頃まで熟成のポテンシャルを持つとされ、長期セラーリングにも向く本格派の一本です。
