ベルギー・スクールモン修道院で造られる本物のトラピストビール、シメイ。赤いラベルの「レッド」は、シメイの中で最も歴史の長い一本です。
1862年に誕生した、シメイ最古のトラピストビール
シメイ公式サイトによると、このビールが初めて醸造されたのは1862年。シメイのトラピストビールの中で最も古いことから「プルミエール（最初の）」の名で呼ばれています。銅色から深いルビー色まで揺らめく美しいブラウンの色合いに、オレンジ・桃・アプリコットのような熟した果実の風味と、ヌガーやビスケットを思わせる甘い麦芽の風味が重なります。爽やかなミネラル感となめらかな苦みが全体をまとめ、心地よい余韻が長く続きます。
おすすめの楽しみ方
冷やしすぎず、10〜12℃前後で香りを開かせながら味わうのがおすすめ。口の広いグラスに注ぐと、果実とキャラメルのような香りがよく立ちます。チーズとの相性がよく、シメイ公式でもチーズとの組み合わせがすすめられています。ローストポークやハンバーグなど、香ばしい肉料理にもよく合います。
