ワームタブとオロロソシェリーのオクタブ追加熟成が生む、「ダークネス 8年」の濃密な味わい
ロンドンの名門ウイスキーショップ、マスター・オブ・モルトが手がける「ダークネス」シリーズ。近年まで2.5回蒸溜を行っていたことでも知られる、あるスペイサイド蒸溜所のシングルモルトを、オロロソシェリーのオクタブで追加熟成させた8年熟成です。
こだわりのポイント
蒸溜には「ワームタブ」と呼ばれる昔ながらのコンデンサー（凝縮器）を使用する蒸溜所の原酒を採用。小型のオクタブ樽でオロロソシェリーの追加熟成を行うことで、シェリー樽由来の濃密な味わいがぎゅっと詰まった、お手頃なシングルモルトに仕上がっています。
味わい・香りの特徴
色はゴールデンアンバー。芳醇なシェリー樽由来のアロマに、砂糖漬けのオレンジピール、ドライフルーツの甘い香り、チョコレート、ピーナッツ、シナモンやクローブなどのスパイスが広がります。味わいはレーズンとプルーンの甘さがたっぷりと広がり、アーモンドクッキーの香ばしさとオークの味わいが奥行きを与えます。フィニッシュにはチョコレートとオイリーなスモーキーさを感じます。
