“Daruma Beni Azuma” is a genuine honkaku sweet potato shochu made by Sakurao Brewery and Distillery using 100% Beni Azuma sweet potatoes from Hiroshima Prefecture. One of Hiroshima’s signature brands, it offers the sweet flavor of sweet potatoes along with a fruity aroma.

The Beni Azuma sweet potatoes used as the main ingredient are carefully cultivated by contracted farmers of JA Shobara and produced under consistent management from cultivation through preparation. Every detail reflects meticulous attention, including the bamboo charcoal used for finishing, which is made from bamboo produced in Aki-Takata, Hiroshima, and fired in a kiln at 1200°C. Water from Sandankyo, designated a Special Place of Scenic Beauty by the Japanese government, is used for preparation, bringing out the rich sweetness and smooth mouthfeel characteristic of black koji fermentation.
