「ワインの王、王のワイン」とも称されるバローロ。フォンタナフレッダは1858年創業、ピエモンテ州ランゲ地区でバローロの普及と発展を長年にわたり牽引してきた歴史ある造り手で、2018年以降はピエモンテ最大級のオーガニック認証ワイナリーとしても知られています。
バローロとフォンタナフレッダについて
ネッビオーロ種から造られるバローロは、淡いガーネット色からは想像しにくいほど力強いタンニンと酸を備え、「タールとバラ」と形容される複雑な香り、イチゴやチェリー、なめし革、トリュフ、甘草などの多層的な風味が特徴です。フォンタナフレッダは自社畑を中心に丁寧な栽培を行い、伝統的な長期マセラシオンとオーク樽熟成によってバローロ本来の骨格を引き出しています。長期熟成にも耐えるポテンシャルを持つワインです。
おすすめの楽しみ方
しっかりとしたタンニンを持つため、赤身肉の煮込みやジビエ、熟成したチーズなど、コクのある料理と合わせるのがおすすめです。抜栓後すぐよりも、デキャンタージュや時間をかけて香りを開かせることで、より本来の魅力を楽しめます。特別な日の1本としてもふさわしいワインです。
