1850年、カルロ・ガンチアがピエモンテ州カネッリの地に興したガンチア社は、フランスでシャンパン製造を学んだ後、モスカート・ビアンコ種を使ってイタリア初のスパークリングワインを生み出しました。このアスティ スプマンテは、その創業の物語を今に伝える一本です。
華やかな歴史を持つ、イタリア王室御用達のスプマンテ
1870年、イタリア統一の父と称されたヴィットーリオ・エマヌエーレ2世がこのアスティ スプマンテを愛飲したことをきっかけに、1946年にイタリアが共和制へ移行するまでの間、王室の公式ワインとして扱われました。シャルマ方式（タンク内二次発酵）によって、モスカート・ビアンコぶどう本来の華やかな香りと果実味をそのまま閉じ込めており、スプマンテとして初めてD.O.C.G.（統制保証原産地呼称）に認定された、名実ともにイタリアを代表する銘柄です。
おすすめの楽しみ方
グラスに注ぐと、はちみつ漬けのりんごや砂糖漬けのシトラス、完熟マンゴーを思わせる華やかな香りが立ちのぼります。きめ細かな泡とバランスの取れた甘さが特徴で、食後のデザートワインとして、フルーツタルトやパンナコッタと合わせるのはもちろん、乾杯の一杯としてお祝いの席にもおすすめです。よく冷やして、6〜8℃程度でお楽しみください。
